Has anyone seen that commercial for Nair Shower Power? You know, that cream you slather on your legs so it can effortlessly wash away your nasty leg hair while you clean the rest of your body? I’m normally not such a sucker for the power of media, but let’s face it, who the hell has time to shave? I barely get a chance to shower these days. So yeah, if that saves me time and saves me from wearing pants when it is 1,000 degrees outside in the heat of a typical Florida summer, then I’m all for it.
I debated whether or not I should show my “before” picture, in fear of possibly scarring any of you for life, but for the full effect of the review, it is necessary. So be warned, here is my hairy leg before using Nair Shower Power Exfoliating:
And just to show you that I actually did use this stuff:
And now after:
You have to look closely. My legs are still a little hairy. I would, however, still wear shorts or a dress without feeling embarrassed (at least not due to the hairiness factor). It’s just not smooth like it is when I shave.
The end result is that unfortunately it’s really not worth it. I’d rather take the 2 extra minutes to shave my legs so they don’t feel like a prickly pear. Isn’t part of the point of shaving to feel good? It’s not all about how it looks.
Sorry for the visual, but it was anything but effortless and graceful in the shower. I was standing in a very awkward position trying to avoid the shower stream from hitting my legs. I was also scared of getting the cream in my eyes or on my head and need I even mention my nether region? That’s a given. It says on the tube that you can use it for your bikini line. Um, I don’t think so. I wouldn’t get it anywhere near that area. Did I mention that it (the Nair) kinda burns???
Stick to shaving (or waxing), my friends! And if you want me to brave any other random products out there, let me know!
This is so funny and your demonstration is great. They put those old adds on for Nair which really make you think ..should I try it again! Well you convinced me, I will stick my usual. Hey though… someone mentioned to me the other day about laser hair removal. Who knows if that really works? I have my doubts.
Julie, I have friends that have tried the laser hair removal and it seems to work for the most part, but it is expensive!!! Plus it takes a few different procedures and is not pain free. Then again, neither is waxing. I guess this is why I stick to shaving….whenever I have the time, that is. LOL!
