So it’s Friday and half the world is chanting “TGIF”. Friday is just like any other day to me. Tomorrow I will still wake up at 6 o’clock in the fucking morning and lay around in my pajamas for about 4 or 5 hours until my household gets it together and we decide to do something. And by doing something, I mean like going to Costco to spend more money than necessary buying frivolous items and bulk food that will never get eaten. The day revolves around nap time for my 10 month old and hoping that my 4 year old will crash at some point. The problem is that it’s never at the same time. Of course.
Despite all of that, I do actually enjoy the weekends because the mornings are not a mad rush to get my kid out the door for camp. We can relax in the morning and anyone that knows me can attest to the fact that I’m all about chilling out. Believe it or not, I also like the chance to hang out with my big boy. When he’s not pretending he is a scary super hero dragon monster or having a tantrum or whining fit, he is actually really very sweet and charming. And funny. Yes, he is very, very funny and makes me laugh a lot.
My boys also play really wonderfully together. They adore one another. It certainly takes the pressure off of me to be their only playmate when we’re just hanging around the house. On weekends we also occasionally have family play dates. Tonight my husband and I are actually even going out ALONE. As in, WITHOUT offspring. Wow, we rarely get that chance!
So yeah, I guess I can say “TGIF” and mean it. More time with my family and moving at a more relaxed pace!
