Today was the first day of Pre-K for my 4 year old. We said goodbye at 9 am and were back together again at 3 pm. Six hours went by where I just had to take care of the baby (who turned one yesterday, btw!) who happens to be on a fairly predictable schedule these days. He takes two naps, each one about an hour in length. Still, my time alone is spent doing things that need to be taken care of for my family such as folding and putting away laundry, going through mail/bills, unloading and loading the dishwasher and checking emails, etc. on the computer. Does that count as “me time”? I don’t think so. This week I plan on taking the little one to the kid’s club at the gym after dropping off the big one at preschool. I want him to get used to it so that I can have at least an hour of me-time at the gym every morning. I know it takes a little while and if anyone is interested in tips on how to do this, check out my HowTo Guide. Here’s to hoping that next week I have a list of ways I spent with my time alone. One can dream, right?
